5) The official statement from Hearst is below:
It seems not even this wintery storm, Nemo, wanted to miss out on our highly anticipated Hearst Fashion Hack. We are pleased to tell you that we are NOT cancelling this event. However, the safety of both you and our organizers will always be our main concern and, keeping that in mind, we have made a few modifications to our schedule for tomorrow, Saturday, February 9, to accommodate everyone.
Saturday, February 9
Morning Sessions & Lunch Are Cancelled
1:00pm – Doors Open (*We will not be able to allow anyone in the building before this time)
2:00pm – Welcoming Ceremony
3:00pm – Hacking Begins
Sunday, February 10: Schedule Remains the Same
With this new delay we encourage any pre-existing teams to begin developing now, utilizing our great Hackathon.IO page, and check out the sponsor decks for ideas. Anyone still seeking team members, feel free to tweet using #HearstFashionHack and shout-out for any additional recruits.
For those who will be unable to make it into the city due to the storm, we apologize and will fully refund your ticket. We also ask that you let us know that you can't make it to give a chance to another fellow developer who may be able to attend. Please cancel by logging in through our Hackathon Eventbrite page and contacting the organizer.
NOTE: If things worsen overnight, we will be forced to cancel the event to follow any city-declared weather emergency. Will keep you updated if this occurs.
Thank you everyone, stay warm tonight and we look forward to seeing you all here tomorrow afternoon ready to hack!
Best,
Hearst Corporation
